Parliament sits from today for one week.
There will be presentation of key documents, including the 2022–2023 annual reports from the Ministry of Civil Service, Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, and Fiji National University.
A major portion of today’s sitting will focus on oral and written questions from Members of Parliament to government ministers.
Topics for questioning include the review of Fiji’s universities, efforts to contain dengue fever, access to clean water in rural communities, persistent water cuts in Tavua, and updates on the 2025 Electoral Law Review. The discovery of a bullet casing aboard a Fiji Airways flight and outcomes under the Great Council of Chiefs Regulations 2024 will also be addressed.
Written questions will seek clarity on the $66 million allocated for Free Education, and tourism revenue breakdowns by major source markets.
Three motions are scheduled for debate. These include the review reports of the Ministry of Forestry, Water Authority of Fiji, and the Savusavu Town Council.
Ministerial statements and consideration of Bills are also on the Order Paper today.
