ASENACA Lewatu Wellington Kadre will deliver the match ball during the Flying Fijians versus Wales match at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
This after she won the DHL Express Fiji Match Ball Delivery competition which had more than 800 entries.
In a video, DHL’s Country Manager DHL Express Fiji and Pacific Islands Mark Komene surprised Asenaca with her winning confirmation letter.
She burst into tears after reading out her winning letter.
The 12-year-old said she could not have won the competition without the help of a number of people.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Mark , my proud sponsors DHL, my proud parents Ratu Peni and Naomi Caucau for their unending support from day one till today, I’d like to thank all my relatives and to name a few my paternal grandmother Adi Asenaca Caucau my maternal grandparents Bui and Tukai, Tai Meli and Tai Vou, the Korovulavula family, the Vusiniyasi family, the Vinakasigadua family, the Liga family and Aunty Emily and Uncle Drani, Na Levu Iva in Lami Village,” she said.
She also thanked the students and teacher of Year 7 of St. Annes School for helping her through her journey.
The Fiji-Wales match will be played on October 9, 2019 in Japan.
