Assemblies of GOD Primary School today inducted 25 class prefects, 30 junior prefects and 36 senior prefects with four deputies and two heads of school.

Officiating at the event, the Former headteacher Jope Kaitoga said the 97 prefects inducted today would be important pillars in the structure of the school in 2021.

He said the students who had been chosen as leaders for AOG Primary School for the year 2021 had proven not only to themselves but to their friends, teachers and parents that they are leaders.

“The badge you will be inducted with today is not an ornament for your school uniform; it is a responsibility that you will have to carry for the rest of the year,” Mr Kaitoga said.

“While this badge may pass to someone else next year, this responsibility will build you to become better leaders for the rest of your lives.”

Mr Kaitoga went on to remind the students of the words of Myles Munroe who said: “Leadership is not about control but of service. It’s not about power but of empowerment. It’s not about manipulation but inspiration.”

Chance Cio and Ethel Smith were inducted as Head Boy and Head Girl in the ceremony today.
