The Assemblies of God of Fiji has begun construction of a new $17.9million seven-storey headquarters in Suva, with church leaders describing the project as the fulfilment of a vision developed over several years.
Reverend Filikesa Koroivueta said the project was driven by the church’s general superintendent Reverend Moses Cakau, who took up the vision with “zeal and passion” about two to three years ago.
He said the building would become a landmark in Suva and provide members with a sense of pride and belonging. The project was first developed in 2021 with construction expected to take 15 months and will use prefabricated materials.
The church also plans to develop its Bible School on iTaukei land and utilise vacant land in Koronivia provided by the Ministry of Lands, with part of the property earmarked for commercial development to support its ministries and schools.
