THE ANZ Group has appointed Swastika Devi as the chief financial officer for its ANZ Pacific operations.
Ms Devi, CPA, succeeds Ravendran Achari who has transitioned to the role of chief financial officer for ANZ in Papua New Guinea.
Ms Devi brings more than 20 years of experience in finance and leadership.
She most recently served as financial controller for ANZ Pacific where she oversaw operations across 11 countries.
Her career has spanned commercial operations, financial and management accounting, statutory reporting, planning and analysis, and regulatory engagement.
“Swastika’s depth of experience, connections, and understanding of the Pacific made her the ideal candidate to step into the CFO Pacific role,” ANZ chief financial officer New Zealand Amanda Owen said.
Regional executive Pacific Sarah Stubbings said Ms Devi’s appointment also reflected the deep pool of talent the banking group was able to draw on within its Pacific team.
“Her leadership, regional expertise, and values-driven approach will help ANZ to continue to support communities, strengthen financial resilience, and grow sustainably across the region,” Ms Stubbings said.
As CFO Pacific, Ms Devi will focus on enhancing financial performance, strengthening regulatory reporting and controls, and supporting the region’s ongoing transition to digital banking.
Ms Devi is a graduate of the University of the South Pacific, and she became a CPA Australia member in 2008.
She is the president of the CPA Australia Fiji Representee Committee, and was a former chairperson of the Fiji Institute of Bankers.
Ms Devi has also served on committees within the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants, supporting financial governance and professional growth.
