Sshools from Suva and nearby areas took part in the 10th year anniversary celebration of the China Cultural Centre in Fiji last Friday.
The event featured the launch of the “Hello Fiji” Painted Panda Interactive experience, where students painted pandas in Fijian styles to represent the blending of Fijian and Chinese cultures.
Chinese Ambassador Zhou Jian said the project aimed to bring people closer through creative collaboration, marking both the centre’s anniversary and 50 years of diplomatic ties between China and Fiji.
“I believe these Fijian-style pandas painted by students will beautifully blend Chinese culture and Fijian spirit,” Mr Zhou said.
First Lady Emily Lalabalavu also attended and thanked the Chinese Embassy for offering a meaningful cultural experience to Fijian youth.
