A household name in Fiji, Anita Jewellers Ltd, has come a long way from when the company first started its operations in the country in 1965.

The company opened its first retail outlet in 1965 under the name of Harilal Dosa & Sons which was changed to Anita Jewellers Ltd in 1970 and since then they have opened four stores in Fiji – Suva, Nadi, Lautoka and Ba.

Their Suva branch recently reopened for business after some major renovations and revamp.

Anita Jewellers Ltd general manager Dakshay Jogia said the facelift for their Suva store was carried out to create a modern shopping environment for their customers, adding that renovation plans were in the pipeline for 2020 however because of COVID-19 they had to delay it for a year.

Anita Jewellers Ltd specialises in 9ct, 18ct, 22ct gold, and Diamond jewellery with the company importing a wide range of jewellery from Singapore, India, Dubai, Italy and Asia Pacific including Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Jogia said Anita Jewellers had also expanded its range by introducing vintage ornaments and sculptures and marble ornaments.

Anita Jewellers had been operating in Suva since 1991 and with the growing economy of the Capital City and operating in the heart of the city, a facelift was really needed.

The company has been carrying out renovations to all its branches over the past few years and had renovated its Nadi branch in 2014 which remains the most modern looking jewellery store while their Lautoka branch was renovated in 2018.

Mr Jogia said they added more lines to their business at every stage of the business, adding that when they were only selling traditional gold jewellery, the store reflected that.

“But over time we have evolved to departmental jewellery store with a huge collection of diamond jewellery, silver jewellery, and stainless-steel jewellery to name a few.

“Recently we have added marble ornaments and vintage artefacts and we have had a great response for these products.

“To cater for the new lines of product the renovation was needed.

“This will add value to the dynamic setup and thus give a better shopping experience,” he said.

“Anita Jewellers, with its revamped identity and a stunning new branch at Cumming St, Suva, has solidified its unrivalled presence in the city of Suva.”
