Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has confirmed that all schools across Fiji will resume classes from Monday, as conditions continue to improve following Tropical Cyclone Vaianu.

“From Monday 13th April, all schools in Fiji will resume classes, therefore all students and teachers are to report to school,” Mr Rabuka said.

He noted that while the situation has stabilised as of 10:00am yesterday, recovery efforts are still ongoing in some areas.

The Prime Minister also confirmed that four evacuation centres remain active nationwide, assisting families still affected by flooding.

In the Western Division, three centres remain open, including Saint Andrews Primary School in Nadi, which continues to shelter evacuees due to flooding along the Nawaka tramline. Two additional centres are operating in Nadroga at Nalele and Yako village halls.

In the Eastern Division, one evacuation centre remains active in Lawaki Village, Kadavu, supporting affected households.

Mr Rabuka said authorities will continue to monitor the situation as recovery efforts progress.
