The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, has announced that all schools in the Northern Division will be closed tomorrow due to worsening weather conditions.

Mr Radrodro said the decision was made after consultations with the National Disaster Risk Management Office and the Commissioner Northern, following continuous heavy rain and rising flood risks.

“We apologise for the delay in the announcement of the school closure and any inconvenience caused,” the Minister said.

Schools in other divisions remain open, but Mr Radrodro encouraged parents to use their discretion based on local conditions.

He also urged school heads in the North to stay in close contact with their management committees, district offices, and the Divisional Emergency Operations Centre as updates continue.
