Update: 2:07PM THE first Suva-Sydney flight was fully booked when it left Nausori International Airport for Sydney this morning.
Fiji Airways managing director and CEO Stefan Pichler says the launch of this flight is exactly what Suva needs.
“The new flight attracts different market segment for us and is a different segment from Nadi- Sydney where most are leisure passengers,” Mr Pichler said.
For the Suva-Sydney flight, he said it attracted passengers such as leisure, business, friends and family, government travel and non-governmental organisation.
The flight is schedule for Monday and Friday every week.
