Artificial intelligence (AI) will be a big force and will have a huge impact on lives and enterprises. This was shared by Datec Fiji chief executive officer Satyen Singh at its Fiji Tech Summit in Natadola yesterday.
“So AI and machine learning is something that all our 21 vendors presented over here,” he said.
“They have been investing in this AI for some time, earlier it was not visible to us because it was not in the co-pilot mode.
“With Microsoft coming up with Chat GPT, it is much more visible and what it will do is that it will allow us to achieve more using less.
“We all have challenges of human resources and so it will help us to automate and achieve a lot of outcomes quickly, easily improve our efficiency and achieve more and more.”
Mr Singh said a lot of government enterprises and technology vendors were working on policies around trust, risk and security management so that AI was not abused.
“From Datec point of view, we work very closely with all our technology partners to secure the security of all the Fijian enterprises in the cloud.
“We work with our technology partners, we work with our customers .
“The good part in Fiji is that the IT resources that we have, they are very skilled, very knowledgeable and they adapt to challenges very fast and they respond to if there is an incident.”
