Update: 2:47PM FORMER senator and political leader Adi Laufitu Ekari Salabogi Malani was finally laid to rest at the Nausori cemetery today.
Adi Laufitu who served as a senator from June to December in 2006 is the daughter of Ratu Meli Salabogi Malani, the late Turaga na Gonesau of Nakorotubu in Ra.
She was the PA to the Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa, from 2014 to early this year when she resigned for health reasons.
During the funeral service at the Christian Mission Fellowship (CMF) in Kinoya, the speakers who delivered eulogies spoke about the substance, diligence and perseverance of such a meticulous and hardworking lady.
The funeral today was attended by chiefly families of Bau, Vuanirewa, Cuvu, Ra, Verata and many others that have links to the Gonesau clan.
Adi Laufitu is survived by her two daughters Adi Titilia Maramanikaibau Malani Tikoca and Adi Asinate Senirewa Tikoca.
