ADI Laufitu was a beacon of hope and a unifying figure.
Former politician Mick Beddoes made the comment while delivering his eulogy for Adi Laufitu Malani at the funeral service at the Christian Mission Fellowship (CMF) church at Kinoya on Friday.
Adi Laufitu, who was laid to rest at the Nausori burial grounds, who served as a medical practitioner in Fiji prior to engaging with UNIFEM (now UN Women) as regional director and later on nominated by the then Great Council of Chiefs as a senator in 2006.
Families, work colleagues, and friends of the late senator attended the church service including former president Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Leader of the Opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa, NFP leader Biman Prasad, former politicians Taufa Vakatale, Mick Beddoes, Lavenia Padarath, Adi Elenoa Mara and representatives from various political parties.
