Fiji Bitter Mataso 7s tournament director Siva Nayacatabu stresses the significance of adhering to the rules for a successful two-day tournament which kicks off at 8am today at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
“It’s crucial for all teams to follow the rules so we can have a successful two-day tournament,” Nayacatabu emphasises.
“Forty men’s teams, eight women’s teams, and 16 under-21 teams are poised to showcase their skills and determination in this rugby spectacle.
“The tournament promises a thrilling display of speed, agility, and raw talent, with teams from the corners of Fiji converging to compete for glory.
“The men’s divisions set the stage for fierce competition, with every tackle and try carrying the weight of a team’s aspirations. Women’s teams, a symbol of strength and resilience, prepare to leave an indelible mark on the tournament.”
Amidst the intense action, the U21 teams, the young blood of Fijian rugby, showcase their promise and potential.
It’s not just a battle for victory but a celebration of the sport’s future.
The Vuda Blues rugby 7s team is gearing up with unwavering determination for the much-anticipated tourney.
While they’ve been away from 7s rugby for a considerable stretch, they are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success.
Team manager Sakeasi Keli is at the helm, guiding a spirited group of young players ranging in age from 19 to 21, who are competing in the senior division.
The Vuda Blues’ recent appearance in the Premier Division final of the Lautoka Rugby club competition has provided them with a valuable preparation ground.
Keli remarks, “We recently played in the final of the Premier Division of the Lautoka Rugby competition, so it’s a good preparation ground for us.”
