AD Patel College Open girls’ rugby league team faced a formidable challenge, succumbing to Ra High School 26-6 in the second round of the Western Secondary School Rugby League competition in Ba over the weekend.

Despite the loss, the match showcased the girls’ commendable effort in navigating the relatively new territory of Rugby League in the Western division.

For these young athletes, mastering the intricacies of the game and capitalizing on opportunities has been an overwhelming yet invaluable experience.

School head coach Eroni Cola expressed gratitude for the team’s resilience.

“We thank God for the strength and the school and management for their support.

“These young girls have been giving their all to the sport and even though we have lost but it was a good game for us,” Cola said.

Cola acknowledged the girls’ dedication to the sport and viewed the match as a positive learning experience. Despite the setbacks, he affirmed;

“There are weaknesses we will rectify before the next round.”
