ACS wins U19 cricket zone title for third consecutive year

Adi Cakobau School has successfully defended their title in the National Cricket U19 Women’s Southern Zone tournament, making them the champions for the third consecutive year.

In a thrilling final match, the team emerged victorious with a nine-run win over William Cross College.

Team manager Elina Qereqeretabua expressed her satisfaction with the team’s growth and development compared with previous years, noting that the girls utilised their skills exceptionally well.

ACS batted first and were all out for 68 runs in 11.5 overs.

Mele Waqanisau top scored with 21 runs off 15 balls. William Cross bowlers Kijiana Silivia took four wickets (22 runs) while Marica Meke took two (17 runs).

William Cross scored 59 runs all out in 13 overs. Meke hit 19 runs off 26 balls followed by Silivia with 10 runs off 10 balls.

ACS bowlers Akosita Levaci took five wickets (18 runs) whole Waqanisau took three wickets (7 runs).

ACS won by nine runs.
