Two people alleged to have been involved in the transportation of more than 12.3 kilograms of cocaine in Lautoka earlier this year will re-appear at the High Court in Lautoka on June 17.
Alzaid Shain Rizwan Ali, 48, and Grace Katia Liuvoliga, 19, were charged in relation to the seizure of more than 12.33 kilograms of cocaine on February 15 at the Vuda Bypass Rd in Lautoka.
It is alleged the two were transporting the illicit drugs from the Vuda Bypass Rd to Field 40 when police intercepted them.
Justice Riyaz Hamza told the Court the DPP has decided to make submissions to the second accused in the event she agreed to become a State witness when granted immunity.
Defence lawyer Iqbal Khan argued that the State was supposed to disclose all documents.
In response State lawyer Alvin Singh said the statements would be disclosed during the pre-trial conference.
Mr Singh also asked Justice Hamza if the vehicle used by the accused during the alleged transportation of the drugs could be released to its rightful owners.
He said the vehicle did not belong to the accused duo but to a rental company and was taken into custody during the investigations.
Meanwhile, Justice Hamza told the Court the bail ruling for Mr Rizwan Ali will be on Friday at 11am.
He said several issues needed to be clarified and the accused would need two sureties for cash bail.
Mr Hamza also said if Ms Liuvoliga who is out on bail was to be a State witness then she should not have any contact at all with Mr Ali.
