A four-year-old boy died at Nasovatava Road, Nadroga yesterday after he was hit by a vehicle.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident to this newspaper.
According to police the incident took place around 9am when the suspect Savenaca Narube, 32, a digger operator of Nasovatava Village in Sigatoka hit the young victim Simione Cokanauto.
It is alleged that the victim had suddenly run across the road.
The child was taken to Loma Nursing Station in Sigatoka and was pronounced dead on arrival. Police investigations into the incident continue.
