PEOPLE in the north are being urged to turn up in numbers for the 2025 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl soccer and main rugby match on Thursday and Friday at Subrail Park in Labasa.
Director Human Resources, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jovilisi Leweniqila who is heading the joint organising committee said Labasa is ready to host the highly anticipated annual event.
“Labasa is a hive of activity. We have talked to the special administrator, the businesspeople, we have talked to the market vendors, the people on the ground and they are aware and looking forward to the Ratu Sukuna Bowl 2025,” he said.
This marks the first time the toast of the event will be held at Labasa and Leweniqila had this to say.
“I would request Viti Levu people to stay behind and let the people of the North enjoy this Ratu Sukuna Bowl for once.
“I am pleading to the people of the North in Cakaudrove, Bua and Macuata to please come down to Subrail Park in Labasa.”
The soccer match is scheduled for kickoff on Thursday at 11am.
On Friday, the women’s match will get the day rolling at 11am before the main rugby match at 3pm.
Other competitions in boxing, touch rugby and oldies rugby takes place today at Nasova.
