STUDENTS of Kulukulu Public School in Sigatoka had a taste of America yesterday through a Flag Football clinic undertaken by a team from the National Football League.

Students from Years 1-8 took part in the fun-filled clinic session, learning the basics of the sport through the guidance of trainers and representatives from NFL Australia.

The sound of laughter, a sense of excitement, eagerness and a bit of competitiveness filled the atmosphere as the school embraced a sport new to them.

“We are very grateful for the initiative that is presented to our school. I think we are very lucky out of so many schools, my school was chosen to have this NFL Flag football being introduced in. We are very fortunate and appreciate was has being done here at Kulukulu Public School,” principal Manoj Ram said.

Ram said the school is open to the idea of having multiple opportunities and sporting choice for their students.

“The kids are very talented. I think some students are born with the talents and skills. Maybe if it is a blessing from God, a few of them might become international players in this sport so, I think this clinic is a blessing in disguise to my school.”

Students went there various drills and at the end of the session were also given water bottles and pencil cases.
