Due process will be followed should the Commissioner of Corrections Commander Francis Kean be a subject of complaint before the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC), says Attorney-General Siromi Turaga.

Commander Kean has been subjected to various allegations on social media, however, this needs to be brought before the attention of the commission to allow due process.

Mr Turaga said he had met Commander Kean where he briefed him about the processes the commission will follow if a complaint was brought to their attention.

He said the Fiji Correction Service came under his jurisdiction.

“There were some issues raised on social media about him (Commander Kean) and he is aware of them,” Mr Turaga said.

“I did not ask him to resign but instead laid out to him the process the COC will follow should he be a subject of a complaint.”

He said Commander Kean was aware of the issues on social media.

Commander Kean was reappointed last year for a five-year term and he had another four years to serve.
