THE Springboks and Fiji Airways Fijiana XV clash marks the first-time the South African women’s side has played a Test on Fijian soil.

South Africa vice-captain Libbie Janse van Rensburg said the opportunity to travel to Fiji and face the Fijiana XV was something that would have seemed unlikely just a few years ago, highlighting how far the women’s game had progressed internationally.

“I think it’s absolutely amazing just to see the growth of women’s rugby, where we’ve come to know,” she said.

She hopes the historic fixture will pave the way for more international Tests between the two nations and further strengthen the women’s game around the world.
