A Fijian feature film, “Bati” is set to be released in Fiji soon.

Currently it is being screened at the European Film Market (EFM) Berlin.

As one of the largest and most influential film markets in the world, EFM provides a global platform for filmmakers to connect with distributors, sales agents, and co-production partners.

“Bati” is directed and produced by Tuvalu-born filmmaker Andrew John Fakaua Ponton, who grew up in Fiji.

The film is a boxing drama set in Suva, Fiji’s capital city.

“It is a fantastic networking opportunity to be at the European Film Market representing Pacific Island Cinema,” said Mr Ponton.

“It’s a big honour. I can’t wait to show the film in the Pacific.”

The theatrical release in Fiji is scheduled for August.
