“I love you, my Eta”.
Those were the final words legendary musician George “Fiji” Veikoso said to his daughter, Arieta, three days before his passing.
These words are now etched in her heart forever.
“It’s hard to describe him as a person because he was everything,” she shared.
“Everything we wanted, he’d provide. I could say that he was great to me and great to all my siblings, and I just want to fulfil his legacy and do everything in my power to make him proud.”
Her voice softened as she recalled their last conversation.
“The last time I talked to him, he just said that, ‘I love you, my Eta’, this was a couple of days before he passed. I just love him so much.”
Arieta and her three siblings were at the Vodafone Arena yesterday, where they were traditionally received by her father’s family.
Also at the gathering were a delegation of musicians, friends, and family who travelled from Hawaii.
