Raiwaqa Rugby Football Club (RRFC) recently held its Annual Awards Night to celebrate the outstanding performances and achievements of its players during the 2025 season.

Supported by sponsors DHL, FEXCO Pacific, and Axellerate, the event brought together players, families, and supporters in a night of recognition and appreciation.

President Saula Koroi expressed his gratitude towards the sponsors for their support in enabling the club to not only excel on the rugby field but also make a positive impact within the Raiwaqa community.

He highlighted the club’s role as a key talent nursery in Fiji, producing players who have excelled at various levels of the sport and even represented the country in international competitions.

“We’re really grateful to our sponsors for supporting the work we do here in Raiwaqa, much of which goes well beyond the rugby field,” said Koroi.

“Our development programme has produced players who have starred in the Secondary Schools Rugby system, others who have progressed to overseas clubs, and some who now represent Fiji across multiple sporting codes. It’s the loyalty, discipline and commitment of our players that continues to make us proud.”

The night saw several players being recognised for their outstanding contributions throughout the season.

Kitione Drauivi was named Rookie of the Year for his performance as Openside Flanker and leadership as Captain of the Raiwaqa U20 7s team.

Simione Naluvula received the Forward of the Year award for his excellence as a Prop, while Sailosi Vakataletale was honored as the Backline Player of the Year for his role as a Halfback.

Koroi also called upon members and supporters to uphold the Raiwaqa sports legacy and continue to support the club in shaping the next generation of rugby stars and community leaders.
