AIR New Zealand Cargo noted a positive financial year for 2015, and plans to expand its routes to newer destinations next year.
Speaking at an awards ceremony to thank freight partners and agencies on Friday evening, the company’s Pacific Islands and international airlines sales manager, Pradip Singh, said Air NZ Cargo met all revenue projection from Fiji and the Pacific region.
“During the financial year for 2015, Air NZ operated 368 services using the A320 aircraft, eight with the B744 and 38 by the B763, while 339 flights were operated by the B772 and 196 by using the B773,” he said.
Mr Singh said they had also carried additional shipments to offline ports such as Honduras, Sao Paulo in Brazil, and to the Maldives.
“Air NZ Cargo has put Fiji on the world arena by means of carrying and delivering made-in-Fiji products around the world. We have concurred with the Fiji government’s initiative in ensuring our products produced locally are marked around the world on a whole new spectrum.”
Company regional manager, Blair Gourdie, said two more destinations, namely Houston, in the US, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, would be added to their routes next year.
Business partners that received awards on the night for their support to the company included DHL, Williams and Gosling, and Gibson Freight.
