Soqe happy with Sea Eagles’ win

PACIFIC Energy Kinoya Sea Eagles pipped Packleader Nabua Broncos to a 9-8 win in the Vodafone Cup top eight competition at Fiji National University grounds in Valelevu yesterday.

Coach Isimeli Soqe was over the moon with the win against favourites Nabua Broncos.

He said they wanted to continue their current performance in the future.

“It’s good man. We have finally won a game,” he said.

“But there are number of areas we need to work on if we want to continue winning.

“It was all a team effort and I am happy with the performance of the boys.”

Kinoya’s Nemani Tulele scored the first try converted by Richard Fiu.

In the second half, Wilson Komai kicked a drop goal to extend the teams lead before Fiu kicked a penalty.

“The win didn’t came easy as we had lost few players through injury,”

“Our players such as Anare Cagi had a broken arm while Viliame Turagaviu and Sani Delai had ankle injuries.

“This is because our opponents were too big and our boys were small and to go through casualty for the win.”

In the other matches, Burenitu Cowboys lost to Saru Dragons 31-8 at Ra High School grounds.

Nadi Eels scored a massive win over Dee Cees Nadera Panthers 25-8.

Meanwhile, Makoi Bulldogs and Sabeeto Roosters played to a 12-all draw in Nasinu.
