IT is not about the crown or the attention from the public, says a top 10 contestant for Miss World Fiji 2015 Sukanika Qaqa.
It is more about the opportunity she has been given to help others, especially supporting children with special needs.
“I represent the Early Intervention Centre alongside Hilton Special School, supporting children with special needs,” the soft hearted contestant said.
“The reason I joined (Ms World Fiji) is because I feel that it gives me the opportunity to help others out there, especially the ones that I’m representing.”
She believes that by joining the competition she will be able to help a greater number of children on a larger scale.
Ms Qaqa, who appeared to be a natural with children at the early intervention centre, said the children needed as much care and attention as any child would.
“I want you kids and your parents to know that I love each and every one of you,” she said during her visit to the centre on Tuesday.
Hilton Early Intervention Centre head-teacher Cecilia Yee said: “For us, it’s a great opportunity more so for awareness purposes for our children, it’s taking early intervention up there and letting the community and the public to know that we have a centre for kids with special needs.”
