National budget consultations have been postponed until further notice due to adverse weather conditions affecting parts of the country.
The Ministry of Finance confirmed the decision, stating that the postponement was made in the interest of public safety.
“This decision has been made in the interest of public safety and to ensure that communities, stakeholders, and officials are not exposed to unnecessary risk during this period of inclement weather,” the ministry said.
“The ministry remains committed to an inclusive and participatory budget process.
“New dates for the consultations will be communicated in due course once conditions improve.”
Members of the public have been encouraged to continue submitting their inputs through the official channels previously provided.
The ministry thanked Fijians for their understanding and cooperation, while urging everyone to prioritise safety during the ongoing weather situation.
