A grieving family is calling on authorities to provide answers and release the body of a 14-year-old boy, four months after he was found dead in late December last year.
In an emotional social media post, Jocyrus Biu said his family continues to endure “pain, confusion, and unanswered questions” following the discovery of his nephew, Uate Keni’s decomposed body on December 30, 2025.
Biu revealed that Police had conducted a DNA swab test and initially informed the family that results would be available within three to six weeks.
“We held onto that promise and waited patiently, hoping that we would soon receive answers and finally be able to lay our beloved child to rest,” he said.
However, he claimed that despite the passage of four months, the family is still waiting.
“Every day that passes without answers makes our grief even heavier. This delay is not just a process on paper — it is a child, a nephew, a son who deserves dignity and a proper burial,” Biu said.
According to the family, they later learned through social media reports that the body has not yet been released because the cause of death remains undetermined.
Biu has made a heartfelt appeal to authorities to expedite the process.
“We are humbly pleading with the authorities to please help us. We need answers. We need closure. And most importantly, we need our nephew’s body released so our family can finally lay him to rest with the love and respect he deserves,” he said.
He added that no family should have to endure such a prolonged wait to bury a loved one.
“Please hear our cry. No family should have to wait this long to bury their child. We continue to pray for justice, clarity, and compassion during this heartbreaking time.”
