Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has dismissed claims circulating regarding the alleged arrest of three police officers in relation to the killing of Police Constable Peniasi Racagi in Lami, stating that the information is false.
“The information in circulation of the arrests three police officers is false,” he said.
He confirmed that no recent arrests have been made by either the investigation team led by the Divisional Crime Officer Southern or the Criminal Investigations Department, which is tasked with pursuing information into the alleged involvement of police officers.
Commissioner Tudravu urged members of the public to rely on verified information and to avoid spreading unconfirmed reports that may interfere with ongoing processes.
“No recent arrests have been made by either the investigation team headed by the Divisional Crime Officer Southern or the Criminal Investigations Department, tasked to pursue information regarding the alleged involvement of police officers.”
He also encouraged anyone with relevant information to come forward through official channels.
