Melbourne Storm has confirmed that Fijian forward Tui Kamikamica has been discharged from hospital and will now begin a period of inpatient rehabilitation.
In a statement this morning, the club said Kamikamica is expected to return to the club following his rehabilitation programme, where he will continue his recovery under the supervision of Melbourne Storm’s medical staff.
“It is anticipated he will be able to return to the Club following his rehabilitation period and continue his recovery under the care of Melbourne Storm medical staff,” the club said.
Melbourne Storm also acknowledged the care provided to the 30-year-old during his hospital stay.
“The Club would like to thank the medical professionals at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Ambulance Victoria for their outstanding care of Tui and extend its appreciation to everyone who has supported Tui and his family during this difficult time,” the statement added.
Kamikamica’s progress will continue to be monitored as he works towards recovery.
