6 medals for team Fiji in Oceania Tae Kwon Do showdown

A MASSIVE performance was delivered by Team Fiji at the 2026 Oceania Tae kwon do Games in Sydney, Australia, as the team returned home with an impressive medal haul that highlights the sport’s steady rise locally.

The Fiji Tae kwon do team fielded eight athletes; four juniors and four seniors, with six finishing on the podium in a commendable showing against some of the region’s best competitors.

In the junior individual division, Aanvi Kumar, Immanuel Krishna, and Vivaan Singh each secured bronze medals.

The trio, alongside Bhavish Nand, also combined effectively to win silver in the junior team event, demonstrating strong coordination and promise for the future.

The senior ranks also produced solid results, with Lolohea Naitasi and Aarush Kumar claiming bronze medals in their respective individual categories.

Naitasi went on to add another bronze in the senior team event, capping off a particularly strong campaign.

The achievement reflects the athletes’ discipline, preparation, and growing experience on the international stage, while also signalling the continued development of Tae kwon do in Fiji.

The Fiji Tae kwon do Association has acknowledged the support of key organizations, including the Fiji National Olympic Committee and the Fiji Association of Sports, whose backing helped make Team Fiji’s participation possible.

With six medals from eight athletes, the performance marks a positive step forward as the sport continues to build momentum across the region.
