THE Ba Football Association has issued immediate suspensions to a local club and two of its officials following allegations of misconduct and defamatory comments.
Ba FA president Praneel Dayal confirmed that the board of control had suspended YCF Football Club from all football-related activities, including tournaments and local leagues.
He said the club’s vice presidents, Shaireen Singh and Varun Lal, were also suspended.
Dayal said Ms Singh was sanctioned for persistent misconduct and derogatory social media comments targeting the association’s leadership.
He added Mr Lal was suspended for publishing defamatory content and for allegedly threatening to organise unauthorised protest marches against the association.
“Under our statutes, clubs are held accountable for the actions of their officials,” Dayal said.
He said the matter had been referred to the association’s disciplinary committee for a full inquiry.
Dayal claimed that in recent years, former Ba FA presidents had faced online abuse, which had also affected players and officials.
He said the association was committed to moving forward with integrity and ensuring a positive environment for its players and stakeholders.
