IF I had to choose one priority, it would be improving connectivity- both in access and in coordination, says Rosie Holidays director Business Development Adeline Lee-Erasito.

Ms Erasito made the comments in response to a question from Fiji Airways Business Development manager, MICE & Business Events, Nikita Devi, on the most important thing Pacific destinations should focus on to win more MICE business during the panel session at the SPTO Industry Day 2026 held in Nadi this week.

“Because no matter how strong our product is, if it’s difficult or costly to get here, we limit our competitiveness from the outset,” she said.

“Improved air access, better regional connections and aligned scheduling make a significant difference. But connectivity is not just about flights- it’s also about how well we connect as a region.

“That includes stronger collaboration between destinations, governments, airlines, and industry partners.”

Ms Erasito said when improvements are made to connectivity, everything else becomes easier.

“Confidence increases, costs become more competitive, and planners are more willing to consider the Pacific.

“So ultimately, if we can make it easier to get here and easier to do business, we will naturally unlock more MICE opportunities.

“If not connectivity, then the biggest opportunity is collaboration- because together, the Pacific is far stronger than we are individually.”
