Devo Babas hold off Army Green to seal back-to-back Marist 7s titles

Devo Babas successfully defended their title at the 50th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s, overcoming a determined Nationwide Army Green side in a gripping final at HFC Bank Stadium this evening.

The defending champion set the tone early, controlling possession and territory to take a commanding 12–0 lead into halftime.

Their structured attack and disciplined defense kept Nationwide  Army Green on the back foot throughout the opening spell.

Army Green returned from the break with renewed energy and urgency, managing to break through the Devo Babas’ line for an unconverted try to narrow the gap to 12–5.

The momentum briefly swung in their favor, putting pressure on the Bua based side.

Sensing an opportunity, Army Green pressed hard, to score another try 10_5.

In a tough final minute, Army Green were awarded a series of penalties deep inside Devo Babas’ territory.

However, the defending champions showed remarkable composure and resilience, holding firm under intense pressure to deny any late comeback.

The final whistle confirmed Devo Babas’ 12–10 victory, sealing back-to-back titles and cementing their status as one of the top teams in the Fiji Bitter Sevens series.
