PRIME Minister Sitiveni Rabuka yesterday told those present in Nadala, Nadarivatu to brace for hardships amid the evolving crisis in the Middle East.
He urged the villagers of Nadala to be mindful of their consumption of fuel for vehicles.
“When we look at what is happening around the world, you have to be mindful that we will go through some hard times,” he said.
“Because of the fuel that is needed to keep the engine operating for cars and trucks, we have to be mindful of how we use fuel.”
Mr Rabuka also warned them of a possible increase in the cost of living, adding that Fiji imports most of its products from overseas.
“You also need to be aware of the cost of living that will increase. Because of the global crisis it will be hard to bring those goods to Fiji.” He encouraged the villagers to conserve the land for agricultural purposes, to supplement the increase in price of goods.
