THE annual Women Invigorating the Nation Convention (WIN Convention) has become a powerful platform for dialogue, collaboration and empowerment, with this year’s theme: “Give to Gain: Investing in Women, Transform Our Future” resonating deeply with companies that have come on board to support it.

This was the message imparted by Asco Motors general manager Corporate Services and company secretary, Ajitesh Prasad as yesterday’s announcement of the company’s support as a Bronze Sponsor of WIN 2026.

“At Asco Motors, we believe that empowering women is not just a responsibility – it is a source of inspiration and strength,” Mr Prasad said.

“Within our organisation, we are proud to see women breaking barriers and thriving in roles that were once considered out of reach.

“We have female technicians excelling in traditionally male-dominated fields, proving that skill, determination and passion know no gender.

“This sponsorship is more than a financial contribution – it is a statement of our commitment to investing in women, to nurturing talent and to building a future where opportunities are shared equitably.

“We see this as an investment in our nation’s progress because when women succeed, communities prosper and businesses thrive.”

The WIN Convention is organised annually by the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council (WEBC), a council under the Fiji Commerce & Employers Federation (FCEF), Fiji’s apex private sector body.

In her speech acknowledging Asco Motors’ support, WEBC chair Jyoti Maharaj said the WIN Convention is, for many women, the place where “mentality shifts, where self-doubt gives way to strategy, and isolation gives way to a network that carries them forward.”

“Fiji’s economic future can be made stronger through partnerships exactly like this one, where the private sector and women entrepreneurs grow side by side,” Ms Maharaj said.
