THE lone female bout for the upcoming ZEG Boxing Promotion between Aarti Hooda of India and New Zealand’s Emma Nesbitt promises to be an all-out war.
In a contest of precision versus power, both fighters have pledged relentless action, high-IQ boxing, and a possible early stoppage.
Dubbed the “Battle of Nations”, this will be a major step up in competition for Hooda, who has gained significant international exposure, including prior success in Fiji.
Her sleek performance style, focus, and superior ring IQ make her one of the finest precision fighters to grace our shores.
Lacing up against a two-division WBA Oceania champion in Nesbitt, who is ranked number 2 by the WBA in the light flyweight division, is Hooda’s greatest challenge yet.
Despite her 4-0-0 (1 KO) record, she is determined to maintain her winning streak in Fiji against her New Zealand opponent.
In a video promotion for the boxing program, Hooda promises a relentless battle of wills that will go on until the final bell.
“It will be very intense from both sides, and the fight will last until the end,” she said.
When asked if she had a message for her opponent, Hooda added boldly, “so, I would like to tell my opponent, let’s see who has the strength.”
Nesbitt enters the bout confidently with an impressive record of 12 wins and 1 loss, with 9 of those victories coming by knockout.
In May 2025, she won the WIBA World Light Flyweight title, and in her last bout on March 7, 2026, she defeated Banthita Pumkrathok via a sixth-round technical knockout in Auckland.
When asked to predict her debut fight in Fiji, she expressed confidence in extending her knockout streak.
“No, it won’t, I don’t think it will go the distance,” she noted.
Beyond the stoppage, the 21-year-old promises fight fans will get their money’s worth, as she will apply relentless pressure throughout the bout.
“Fight fans can expect an action-packed fight; it won’t be slow. It will be full of action, full of entertainment through every round, so I’m calling on my opponent to be ready because I’ll be ready,” Nesbitt said.
Apart from being the WBA and WIBA flyweight champion, she is also ranked number eight in the WBO and IBF, number nine with the WBC, and number 10 with BoxRec.
Aarti Hood will take on Emma Nesbitt in an eight rounds (two minutes each) minimum weight bout as an undercard fight this Saturday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
