THE Salad Bowl Netball Club has received a major boost ahead of its historic overseas tour, with Australian-based sponsor Maali Mechanical Services committing AUD $2,000 in support of the team’s preparations.
The sponsorship marks a significant milestone for the club, which will now carry the name Maali Mechanical Services as it prepares for its first-ever overseas tour in August 2026.
Club longest serving president Judy Kumar said the timely support had lifted the morale of players and officials as they gear up for the international exposure.
“This support means more than words can express. It motivates our players to strive for excellence and reminds us that our efforts are recognised beyond our shores,” Kumar said.
She said the backing from Maali Mechanical Services, led by Mr and Mrs Ugle, went beyond financial assistance, with the donation of essential sports gear ensuring the team would be well prepared to compete.
“We are truly grateful for the trust and belief shown in our team. This sponsorship has come at the right time and will go a long way in helping us prepare for this important milestone,” he said.
Kumar added that the tour would provide players with an opportunity to gain international exposure, build confidence and grow both on and off the court.
“This is not just about netball. It is about personal development, cultural exchange and building unity within the team. We are proud to carry the Maali Mechanical Services name and represent with discipline and pride.”
He also acknowledged the continued support from families, supporters and the wider community, saying their encouragement had been vital in the club’s journey.
With preparations underway, the team is determined to make the most of the opportunity and strengthen its presence on the international stage.
