Golf Fiji Amateur Championship will be held at the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club this weekend.

The AA Spares (Fiji) Ltd sponsored championship will be played over 54 holes in a stroke play format and is expected to attract top amateur golfers from around the country.

Tournament director Rohit Chandra said the field would be limited to 80 players.

Entries close today.

The competition is open to both men’s and ladies categories and organisers say the tournament will provide a strong test for players competing on one of Fiji’s premier golf courses.

The overall gross winners in both the men’s and ladies divisions will receive free entry and an air ticket to compete in this year’s Samoa Open.

The championship committee includes Golf Fiji president Amitesh Chandra, James Krishna and Chandra.
