Reports of abandoned yacht found drifting in Cakaudrove waters

Authorities are being urged to investigate the discovery of an abandoned yacht found drifting near Ucunipotu in Cakaudrove.
A social media post has highlighted the issue this afternoon where the phone contact of the village headman has also been provided for authorities.
The yacht was reportedly spotted earlier today by a local diver in waters near Udu Point in the Tawake area.
According to the post, the vessel was drifting aimlessly before it was secured and anchored at the Yasawa Village foreshore, where it is currently under the care of the village headman.
Initial observations indicate that there were no passengers or crew members on board the yacht.
However, food supplies and various documents were found inside the vessel.
The matter has been reported to the relevant authorities, including the Fiji Police Force, the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, and the Fiji Navy.
The social media post states villagers are now aawaiting for authorities to arrive.
