A man believed to be in his 40s allegedly drowned while swimming in Pacific Harbour on Saturday afternoon.
Police said the victim had reportedly been drinking alcohol with others before heading out to sea for a swim.
When he failed to return, those with him raised the alarm and a search was conducted. The victim was later found floating in the sea.
Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Investigations into the incident are continuing, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
