An alert released by FBI

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking public assistance to locate a Canadian man wanted for alleged child sexual abuse in the United States who may be sailing somewhere in the Pacific, possibly near Fiji.

The suspect, Donald Steven Lang, 62, is accused of sexually abusing a child in Idaho between 2003 and 2007.

According to the FBI, Lang was last seen in Hawaii in January 2025 aboard his sailboat named “ISHI.”

“Lang is known to sail around the world, but his ‘home base’ is in Hawaii,” the FBI said in a statement.

Authorities believe he could be travelling across several Pacific routes.

“He may be sailing somewhere between Hawaii and Fiji, Hawaii and Mexico, towards Papua New Guinea, or possibly Indonesia,” the agency said.

Lang is described as a white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with light brown or gray hair and blue eyes.

He is also known to have several tattoos, including a faded conch shell on his right arm with the word “captain” above it.

Investigators say Lang has known connections to Hawaii, Idaho, Washington, California, Fiji, the Marquesas Islands, Mexico and Canada.

The FBI is offering a US$5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Anyone with information on Lang’s whereabouts is urged to contact the FBI.
