IN less than two and a half seasons with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, fly-half Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula might earn his 200th Super Rugby Pacific point tomorrow.

In doing so, he will beat the time it took returning Crusader and former All Blacks fly-half Richie Mo’unga and current Blues and All Blacks player Beauden Barrett to do so.

Armstrong-Ravula has scored 199 points for the Fijian Drua in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition, coming a long way since he signed on with the club after featuring for the New Zealand club Manawatu in the National Provincial Championship.

Mo’unga is also his uncle, sharing links through Armstrong-Ravula’s Tongan maternal side.

Mo’unga joined the Crusaders in 2016 after being part of the club’s wider training group of the previous season and the exit of star players Dan Carter, Colin Slade and Tom Taylor from the backline.

It took him three seasons to end the 2019 run with 179 points; his nephew Isaiah has earned 20 more since he signed on with the Drua two and a half years ago.

Barrett first appeared for the Hurricanes in 2011 and at the end of the 2014-15 season, he completed it with 209 points to his name.

With a record crowd expected to turn up tomorrow at the 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba, one point is all it takes for Armstrong-Ravula to achieve the unprecedented feat for a Fijian player in the Super Rugby Pacific competition. The Drua meet the Brumbies at 3.35pm.
