THE Swire Shipping Fijian Drua are preparing for a crucial Super Rugby Pacific showdown tomorrow when they take on the ACT Brumbies at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba.

With kick-off set for 3:30 PM, the Drua are aiming to make a statement on home turf, and Head Coach Glen Jackson is confident in the leadership and form of his key players.

Co-captain Frank Lomani has been praised by Jackson for his leadership and consistency.

“So he’s leading us really well, and I’m excited for his season.

“The experienced halfback is expected to guide the Drua through what promises to be a challenging game, bringing both skill and composure to the side.”

Jackson also highlighted the impact of prop Peni Ravai, noting his versatility and experience.

“Well, he can play anywhere he can, the old bull. We had a couple of knee straps up, and he’s ready to go again. If you talk about a bye, he probably enjoyed that bye week last week more than anyone,” Jackson said.

Ravai has been impressive in recent games, with Jackson recalling a “beautiful offload down the left-hand corner.

“He’s obviously, as we know, probably one of the only props in the world to play sevens for his country, so he’s got class all over him. And again, the experience that he brings around playing in Australia for the Reds and understanding what Australian rugby is about is crucial for us.”

Looking ahead to the eight-game block of Super Rugby Pacific, Jackson confirmed that he intends to maintain a consistent squad for the upcoming home games.

The Brumbies, already halfway through the block, are expected to bring a strong squad mentality, with rotations likely to keep players fresh. For the Drua, the focus is on executing their game plan, staying disciplined, and building on recent performances.
