The head of the Fiji Police Force has sought forgiveness from the Gone Turaga na Tui Bua, Buli Navakasiga, the vanua and the family of police constable Peniasi Waqawai Racagi.
Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu, permanent secretary for the Ministry of Policing and Communications Berenado Daveta and members of the disciplined forces gathered at Naviqiri Village in Bua to honour PC Racagi, whose life was tragically cut short while trying to protect the community he served.
Mr Tudravu said PC Racagi’s passing was not only a loss to his family and the Fiji Police Force but also to the nation he served with honour.
He said the officer’s bravery and dedication would not be forgotten as he remained loyal and faithful to his oath to protect until his passing.
PC Racagi was laid to rest at his village in Bua on Saturday.
