DATEC (Fiji) Pte Limited hosted a two-day Microsoft Essentials and AI Basics training program for women entrepreneurs from the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector, as part of its celebrations of International Women’s Day 2026.
The training brought together women business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs keen to strengthen their digital capabilities and explore how technology can support business growth in today’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
“Through practical sessions covering Microsoft productivity tools and foundational Artificial Intelligence concepts, the program equipped participants with the digital knowledge needed to improve productivity, streamline operations and strengthen business decision-making,” the company said in a statement.
“By introducing essential ICT skills alongside insights into emerging technologies such as AI, the initiative helped participants gain the confidence to embrace innovation and apply digital tools to support the efficiency, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability of their enterprises.”
The annual program forms part of Datec Fiji’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment and coincides with the global celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8.
“For Datec, the program represents an important way of giving back to the community — ensuring that women entrepreneurs are supported, recognised and equipped with the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital world,” it stated.
“Beyond training, the initiative aims to inspire women to see beyond immediate challenges and envision greater opportunities for their enterprises.”
Datec chief executive officer Vinit Nand encouraged the women participants to think big, remain focused and continue striving toward the growth of their businesses.
He said women entrepreneurs play a pivotal role in driving this sector forward, contributing significantly to economic development, innovation and community resilience.
The training was held at the Datec Training Academy in Garden City, Raiwai.
