The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) did not convene its scheduled meeting yesterday after it failed to reach the required quorum.
Chief Registrar and JSC secretary Tomasi Bainivalu confirmed the development yesterday afternoon, saying the commission would instead meet later this month.
“We didn’t conduct our meeting today (yesterday) as we did not reach our quorum,” Mr Bainivalu said.
“But the meeting will be before the end of this month.”
Members of the commission were seen by the media before and after the scheduled meeting time. However, it was noted that Chief Justice Salesi Temo was not present.
The meeting comes amid ongoing questions surrounding decisions made by President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu regarding recommendations from the JSC on Acting FICAC commissioner, Lavi Rakoika.
The commission is expected to reconvene before the end of the month.
