REWA Rugby Union’s relentless spirit and commitment to grassroots development have been rewarded, with Flour Mills of Fiji (FMF) signing a significant sponsorship deal with the club for the upcoming rugby season.
The agreement was finalised yesterday at the FMF head office at Walu Bay in Suva.
For FMF, the partnership represents a way of giving back to the community through a rugby club that exemplifies the resilient fortitude and enduring values of the brand.
“Looking at their proposal, something that really touched us, that without a sponsorship, they made every effort. The team, the union itself made sure that the players do not give up,” Group marketing manager Maria Kumar stated.
In its 30-plus year history, this is the first time the club has secured sponsorship across all levels of its rugby operations, including the club competition, the U20s, the senior women’s, and the senior men’s team for the upcoming Vanua Championship.
President Ro Macanawai Mataitini expressed the club’s sincere gratitude.
“This partnership will directly strengthen our programmes, support our players and coaches and help us grow the game right,” Mataitini said. Rewa will launch their rugby season on March 21 with the FMF Rewa 10s tournament.
